Chartered Architectural Technologist (www.ciat.org.uk) Dan Rossiter MCIAT has been actively supporting the industry at the Welsh, UK, and international level for several years.
Within Wales, Dan is a committee member of Constructing Excellence’s Youth arm G4C, Chair of Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists Welsh community, and is supporting BIM adoption in Wales through community groups and events. Within the UK, Dan delivers BIM training, research, advisory, and certification services for BRE, sits on task groups for both buildingSMART (www.buildingsmart.org.uk) and the UK BIM Alliance (www.ukbimalliance.org). Internationally, Dan represents buildingSMART (www.buildingsmart.org) on international working groups, undertakes European research projects, and has travelled to several international destinations to deliver BIM services.
Dan also supports the development of national and international standards as a member of the BSI (www.BSIgroup.com) standards committee for Construction design, modelling and data exchange (B/555), both the PAS 1192-2 and PAS 1192-3 steering groups, and represents the UK on an ISO (www.iso.org) standard task force.
Dan applies all his knowledge and expertise to his own blog “There’s No BIM Like Home” (www.bimblog.house). Where he critically applies the full BIM Level 2 (www.bim-level2.org) process to his own terrace home in South Wales.
